Description

An Asuncion City Tour provides the perfect blend of traditional charm and contemporary allure, showcasing the dynamic essence of Paraguay's capital.

Nestled along the banks of the bay of the Paraguay River, Asuncion is a city of contrasts, blending colonial charm with modern development.

Historic Downtown
Begin your journey in the historic center. Stroll down picturesque streets lined with colorful colonial buildings, stopping at landmarks such as the iconic Palacio de Lopez, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the historic train station. Explore the Panteón Nacional de los Héroes and the Casa de la Independencia, which played a crucial role in Paraguay's liberation. Drive along the waterfront promenade, known as Costanera, offering views of the Paraguay River and the modern skyline.

Mercado 4
Drive or walk through the bustling Mercado 4, a vibrant market offering a variety of goods, from fresh produce, to clothing and household goods.

Modern Asuncion
After exploring the historic center, venture into the new modern part of the city, where sleek skyscrapers and contemporary architecture dominate the skyline. Pass through the iconic Paseo Carmelitas, an area of town lined with trendy cafes, restaurants, and shops.

Traditional Foods
You will have an opportunity to sample traditional Paraguayan foods - sopa paraguaya, chipa guazu, and pastel mandi'o (yucca empanadas) at one of the most iconic restaurants in Asuncion.
